Leadership Academy

Students will participate in a monthly leadership series and have the opportunity to earn University of Delaware credit through LeadX.

Students will design, organize, and lead service projects that positively affect the KCSD community.

At Kennett High School, we are committed to preparing our students for successful futures by offering them opportunities to explore career paths and gain hands-on experience in professional environments. The Leadership Academy is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application by placing students in grade 12 in internships tailored to their career interests and educational goals.

Students will explore potential career paths by participating in internships with local professionals, extending their learning beyond the classroom. Our KHS Internship and Mentorship Handbook outlines the expectations for interns and our partners. 

Students will collaborate with school and district leaders to enhance existing and/or develop new innovative programs that benefit current and future students at Kennett High School.  This work will include but is not limited to, Paths With a Purpose, Artificial Intelligence, dual enrollment, and creating a matriculated approach to work-based learning. Additionally, our students will make recommendations on future Leadership Academy cohorts. It is our hope that “Leadership” becomes a future Paths With a Purpose opportunity for Kennett High School students.
