Programs of Study

A program of study is a structured sequence of coursework designed to prepare students for college, career, or both by providing specialized knowledge and skills in a particular field of interest. Typically, a program of study includes at least three courses in a specific career area, progressing from foundational to advanced levels. These courses are often aligned with industry standards, postsecondary education requirements, and career readiness competencies, ensuring that students gain relevant, hands-on experience and theoretical understanding. Additionally, programs of study may integrate opportunities for certifications, internships, and dual dual-enrollment courses to further enhance career and academic preparation.

Students who complete a program of study have the opportunity to experience innovation, choice, and flexibility in their junior or senior year. A program of study completer is a senior, on-track to graduate, and who has completed at least two courses in a specific career  area. Program of study completers can select from one of the following innovative senior project options, for credit, to enhance their learning experience:

  • Internship
  • Capstone Project
  • Credential Attainment
