Two talented Kennett High School musicians have qualified for the PMEA Region VI Band. Erin Dooley (clarinet) and Yvonna Liszewski (flute) will represent Kennett High School on March 10, 11, and 12 at Sun Valley High School.
PMEA Region VI combines Districts 11 and 12 and is historically the most competitive in the state.
Kennett High School Band Director Anton Romano said, “In order to qualify for District Band, Yvonna had to be one of the twelve best flautists in Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia Counties. Erin had to be one of the top twenty-four clarinetists. To move from Districts to Regions, they each had to be in the top half of their respective sections. That means that Yvonna is one of the top six flautists in the area and Erin one of the top twelve clarinetists. It is an amazing achievement that is made possible by the countless hours they have spent practicing.”
