Good Afternoon,
I hope all of you have had a safe, healthy, and productive week of online learning with your Kennett High School teachers. I have had the opportunity to speak with several teachers this week and have heard of the many unique learning experiences taking place through Schoology and other online applications. While not the traditional classroom environment, these innovative settings continue to push all of us to grow and learn new technologies. Students, take advantage of these virtual lessons to enhance your abilities and skills to collaborate, communicate, and learn online. Undoubtedly, these skills will benefit you when we return to the traditional classroom.
I wanted to share a few notes and reminders as we close out the week:
- Kennett High School Awards Night will be held virtually on Thursday, May 21st, more information to come.
- Students, please continue to login to Schoology, communicate with your teachers, and complete your assignments for all of your classes. Your teachers are here to support and help you with your learning in the online setting.
- A plan is currently being developed for students to get back into the building to retrieve items. Once this plan is in place, I will communicate it to you.
- We will soon be publishing information regarding scheduling of courses for the 2020-2021 school year with updated recommendations from teachers and information regarding the override process. This information will be coming at the end of the month.
- A reminder to all Advanced Placement (AP) students: you have the ability to opt out of the AP exams for this school year. Please make sure you are communicating this information to your AP teachers so they are aware.

Espero que todos hayan tenido una semana segura, saludable y productiva de aprendizaje en línea con sus maestros de Kennett High School. He tenido la oportunidad de hablar con varios maestros esta semana y he escuchado sobre las muchas experiencias de aprendizaje únicas que tienen lugar a través de Schoology y otras aplicaciones en línea. Si bien no es el entorno de aula tradicional, estos entornos innovadores continúan empujándonos a todos a crecer y aprender nuevas tecnologías. Estudiantes, aprovechen estas lecciones virtuales para mejorar sus habilidades y destrezas para colaborar, comunicarse y aprender en línea. Sin duda, estas habilidades te beneficiarán cuando volvamos al aula tradicional.
Quería compartir algunas notas y recordatorios a medida que cerramos la semana:
- La Noche de Premios de Kennett High School se llevará a cabo virtualmente el jueves 21 de mayo, más información por venir.
- Estudiantes, continúen ingresando a Schoology, comuníquense con sus maestros y completen sus tareas para todas sus clases. Sus maestros están aquí para apoyarlo y ayudarlo con su aprendizaje en el entorno en línea.
- Actualmente se está desarrollando un plan para que los estudiantes regresen al edificio para recuperar artículos. Una vez que este plan esté en su lugar, se lo comunicaré.
- Pronto publicaremos información sobre la programación de cursos para el año escolar 2020-2021 con recomendaciones actualizadas de los maestros e información sobre el proceso de anulación. Esta información llegará a finales de mes.
- Un recordatorio para todos los estudiantes de Colocación Avanzada (AP): tiene la capacidad de optar por no participar en los exámenes AP para este año escolar. Asegúrese de comunicar esta información a sus maestros de AP para que estén al tanto.
