KHS Graduation Reminder and Information

Good Afternoon KHS Families,

Tomorrow, Friday, June 11th is Graduation Day on the front steps of Kennett High School! The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM, and we are excited to celebrate our wonderful class of 2021!

Here are a few notes and reminders for the event:

1. Graduation Rehearsal for students will begin at 7:40 AM tomorrow in the Kennett High School Athletic Stadium. If it is raining, rehearsal will move indoors to the Reynolds’ Gymnasium. Students, please arrive on time so that we can efficiently practice and prepare for the ceremony. Just a reminder, rehearsal is required in order to participate in the ceremony. If you do not attend rehearsal, you cannot participate in the ceremony.

2. Please note that since our graduation ceremony is outdoors, face masks are optional for all attendees and participants.

3. Seniors, just a reminder that you can return books, devices, and/or pick up your yearbook when you attend rehearsal.

4. Finally, if any change/adjustment needs to be made to the time and/or date of tomorrow’s ceremony, a phone communication will be made to families tomorrow afternoon.

Here’s to an enjoyable and successful Graduation Ceremony on the front steps tomorrow!

Message from Mini-THON…

Dear Kennett faculty, students, parents, families, and friends:

The 2020-2021 school presented many new challenges. While the pandemic placed a temporary freeze on many day-to-day activities, it did not spare children and families the overwhelming news of a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Thanks to you, however, the 2021 KHS mini-THON® was not only a possibility, but also a great success. Together, we raised $36,130.41 and counting for Four Diamonds. This money will provide essential medical and emotional care for children battling pediatric cancer. It will also fund groundbreaking research aimed at finding a cure.

We are touched by your commitment to our efforts, and we are inspired by your goodness. Thank you so much for your unwavering generosity and support!

Principal’s Message -6/3/21

Happy Thursday KHS Families,

I am sending our weekly communication a day earlier this week, as we have made a change to the location of our musical which will kick off this Friday, June 4th. Earlier in the spring, we anticipated holding the musical at our stadium, but we have since moved it indoors to the auditorium for both Friday and Saturday. There is no change to the start time, as we will still begin at 7:00 PM. We are looking forward to the students’ performances this weekend!

Also, please note that the KHS Awards Night taking place this evening has been moved indoors to the auditorium as well with a start time of 6:00 PM. Additionally, Baccalaureate, which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 8th at 5:00 PM has also been moved indoors to the auditorium. Please make note of these adjustments and plan accordingly. Finally, just a reminder that face masks are required at these events.

Seniors, please also make note that on Monday, June 7th, we will have our modified Senior Stroll at the K-Center, elementary, and middle schools. The K-Center, elementary schools, and the middle school will be open for our graduating seniors to visit and to see their former teachers. Students may visit the school(s) they attended. Kennett Middle School will be open from 2:45 to 3:45 PM, Mary D. Lang will be open from 3:15 to 4:15 PM, while all of the other elementary schools will be open from 3:45 to 4:45 PM. Your former teachers, counselors, and principals would love to see you!

For those of you counting out there, we have 8 school days remaining following today. Please continue to encourage your student(s) to finish the school year on a positive note in all of their classes. If your child needs assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to their teachers, counselors, or principals: we are all here to help!

Here are a few notes and reminders as we close out the week:
