We are fully committed to your success and focused on providing an engaging, enriching, and rewarding educational experience. Your teachers have been working hard to design rigorous and relevant lessons that will help you grow as a learner and develop into a critical thinker ready to tackle real-world challenges.
As we work together to ensure a high-quality education, we expect you to give your best effort in the classroom every day. We also encourage you to get involved—whether by joining one of our many extracurricular activities or starting a club based on your interests.
Most importantly, we are dedicated to creating a supportive, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment for every student. This is a shared responsibility. Our staff is here to support you, and we ask that you treat one another with respect, kindness, and empathy to help maintain a positive school community.
We’re proud to have the best students in Chester County—not only because of your academic
achievements, but because of the way you lead and support each other both in and out of the classroom.
The reputation of Kennett High School students is strong and positive, a reflection of our close-knit and connected community. We are going to make this an amazing year together!
KHS Administration
Our History
For over 90 years, Kennett High School (KHS) has been the flagship of what innovative education in a close-knit community can look like. Amidst the darkest days of the Great Depression, citizens of Kennett Square, the surrounding townships and independent schoolhouses united in making the conscious decision to fund the construction of the Kennett Consolidated School with the help and vision of our friend and neighbor, Pierre S. DuPont.
The opening of KHS was covered in the New York Times for its innovative design and amenities, many of which were not seen outside of major cities in the 1930's. Even as the years have passed and many changes were made, KHS remains a paragon for what this community stands for and happy students traverse the front steps every day as they have since January 4, 1932.
Today, KHS continues to serve the community and the 1,300+ Blue Demons that call our school their second home. Students receive a high-quality education in a number of core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science, along with countless other electives taught by a passionate faculty whose top priority is inspiring our students and building positive relationships with the leaders of tomorrow.
